Q: Is Tennessee State University an all black college?

A: No, but TSU is a historically black land-grant university. Around 77% of its students are Black, with the minority races including white, Asian, Hispanic, and international. It was first founded as the Tennessee Agricultural & Industrial State Normal School for Negroes in 1912.

Q: What GPA do you need to get into Tennessee State University?

A: You need a minimum of a 2.50 cumulative GPA to be considered for acceptance to TSU, but your admission is guaranteed if your GPA is at least a 3.20. If you’re under the age of 21, you’ll also need at least a 19 on your ACT or a 900 on the SAT. Incoming freshmen over the age of 21 only need a 2.50 GPA.
